Victoria’s 80 th Regiment of Foot will be holding a living history camp at the Castle on Sunday, 6 th July.
These are the Redcoats who held out so bravely at Rourke’s Drift and were made famous by the film “Zulu”. Everyone loves to see these regular visitors to the Castle.
Said Curator, Lesley Smith, “The Redcoats are dramatic and very romantic. I particularly like the living history camp seeing how they cook and prepare food - and what it was – and the Medic, of course, is always a grisly favourite with the boys.
Children are invited to join the drills which are great fun, particularly when they get it wrong!”
